Responsibilities
- Check in patients for appointments and collect co-pays.
- Answer telephones and take accurate messages.
- Schedule appointments and check insurance eligibility.
- Utilize electronic record systems to verify and update patient demographic information.
- Post and balance payments collected.
- Provide excellent customer service to ensure patients feel informed and cared for.
- Maintain confidentiality of personal and financial information according to HIPAA regulations.
- Assist patients with financial assistance paperwork and payment plans.
- Optimize patient satisfaction by effectively scheduling appointments and managing delays.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Healthcare experience preferred.
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus.
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
- Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and insurance practices.
