About the position

The Patient Service Representative PRN role at Solis Mammography is designed for individuals looking to contribute to a patient-focused environment. This position involves providing essential services to patients, ensuring accurate registration, and facilitating a smooth experience in a healthcare setting. The role is part-time, as needed, with a focus on delivering compassionate care and support to patients visiting the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Accurately register patients by inputting demographic and insurance information into the RIS.
  • Explain forms to patients and assist with form completion as necessary.
  • Process necessary paperwork by scanning documents and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collect patient payments and explain benefits from insurance verification when necessary.
  • Prepare paperwork for future appointments, incorporating additional paperwork needed for specific exams or payors.
  • Ensure all diagnostic tests have required orders and follow up on outstanding requests.
  • Schedule and reschedule patients as necessary.
  • Generate daily invoice journal and reconcile payments using the Daily Reconciliation Report.
  • Participate in front office training to stay updated on policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Two years of healthcare registration or customer service experience strongly preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but sometimes complex written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematic calculations.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of RIS software preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare registration or customer service.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
