About the position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients at Eastern Nephrology Associates, ensuring a friendly and professional experience. This role is crucial for processing patient information accurately and efficiently, maintaining confidentiality, and supporting the clinic's operations by scheduling appointments and verifying insurance details.

Responsibilities

• Assist referral coordinator with scheduling and re-scheduling appointments in EHR.
• Check in/out patients for appointments, lab work, or studies.
• Verify insurance and obtain pre-authorization numbers when required.
• Update outlying clinic schedules.
• Act as the point of contact for the medical records department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of related medical clerical experience or completion of a medical secretarial program.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and office organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and EHR systems.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse individuals.
