About the position

The Patient Service Representative in Radiation Oncology at Corewell Health plays a crucial role in providing clerical support to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. This position involves direct interaction with patients and visitors, performing various administrative tasks, and maintaining patient records to facilitate efficient operations within the department.

Responsibilities

• Greet and communicate with patients or visitors as a concierge.
• Answer practice phone calls and schedule patient appointments using a decision tree.
• Order supplies and generate patient letters.
• Process and sort mail and supply deliveries, and manage registration reports.
• Identify and remind patients of health maintenance gaps.
• Document patient phone calls in EHR for call routing and resolution.
• Perform patient registration and check-in, confirming demographic and insurance information.
• Assist patients with self-registration and arrival, and schedule follow-up appointments during check-out.
• Maintain patient medical records according to standards and upload documents into EPIC.
• Participate in safety initiatives and complete all safety-related competencies and requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, or lab service support.
