About the position
The Patient Service Representative will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient service and satisfaction in a clinical environment. This position involves supporting staff and patients by managing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and assisting with treatment plans while ensuring a high level of customer service and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and sign them in upon arrival.
- Schedule future appointments and handle incoming phone calls.
- Assist patients according to training to ensure they receive the best possible service.
- Respond to patient questions and concerns according to DCA Policies.
- Maintain the appointment book and confirm appointments.
- Follow up on no-shows and cancellations of appointments.
- Register patients on the sign-in sheet.
- Post charges and payments to patient accounts.
- Check voice-mail daily and maintain a clean and friendly waiting area for patients.
Requirements
- Experience working in a dental, medical, or other healthcare office is preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance plans (HMO/PPO) is a plus.
- Experience answering telephone calls is required.
- Exceptional customer service skills are necessary.
