About The Position
As a Patient Service Representative at Intermountain, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients entering our facilities. This role is crucial in embodying Intermountain's values and fostering collaborative relationships with both patients and fellow caregivers. Your primary focus will be to ensure a superior customer experience by effectively identifying and resolving patient needs related to intake and care. This includes greeting and checking in patients, verifying their information, and assisting them in completing necessary forms to meet regulatory and billing requirements before they receive clinical care. You will also be responsible for scanning necessary paperwork and educating patients about financial assistance options available to them. In this position, you will greet incoming customers in a professional manner, assess their needs, and ensure that those needs are met while exceeding customer service expectations. You will efficiently update and verify patient demographics, insurance, and contact information, and assist customers in completing necessary forms. Additionally, you will thoughtfully direct patients on their next steps and keep them informed about any delays or wait times. Scheduling appointments using provider templates and scheduling guidelines will also be part of your responsibilities, along with proactively requesting payments from patients for current and past medical services and processing those payments according to established procedures. You will support the administrative functions of the clinic by working on reports, addressing patient concerns, and performing necessary paperwork. Collaboration with other care teams and employees will be essential to provide a seamless experience for patients. Completing training and pass-off requirements is also a key aspect of this role. This position is partially remote, requiring some in-person attendance, and candidates must reside within the service area of the assigned clinic.
