The Patient Service Representative at ID Care, P.A. is a full-time clerical role responsible for managing incoming calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, and verifying patient information. This position is essential for ensuring a smooth patient experience and requires adherence to ID Care's policies and procedures. The role involves working in a well-lit office environment with occasional evening and weekend shifts, and it requires a commitment to patient service and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Promptly and professionally answers telephone calls.
• Routes calls appropriately, offering voicemail, paging, or redirection as needed.
• Greets visitors and assists them as appropriate.
• Phones or pages employees to meet visitors and directs them to appropriate waiting areas.
• Screens solicitors for relevance to the organization's needs.
• Schedules and reschedules patient appointments per established protocols.
• Verifies necessary demographic and insurance information and records data in EMR.
• Explains financial requirements to patients or responsible parties and collects copays as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of receptionist or clerical experience in a medical office environment required.
• One or more years' experience in customer service.
• Current CPR certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of medical terminology and organization services.
• Knowledge of EMR system.
• Ability to travel to various locations.
