About the position

The Patient Services Coordinator II at the Gynecology Oncology Clinic is responsible for providing specialized services to support the operations of assigned physicians and advanced practice providers. This role involves scheduling patients, managing phone communications, entering patient data, obtaining insurance authorizations, and coordinating patient care at satellite clinics. The position emphasizes excellent customer service and organizational skills within a supportive and inclusive healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and add-on patients to the clinic.
  • Answer telephones and route calls appropriately.
  • Enter demographic and insurance data into the IDX system.
  • Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals.
  • Schedule surgical cases and coordinate patient care at satellite clinics.
  • Check in and check out patients in the clinic, including collecting copays.
  • Communicate and perform patient follow-up as necessary.
  • Perform clerical duties related to patient care, such as completing home health forms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of office/clerical experience in customer service, call center, physician office, or clinical environment.
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and advanced knowledge of PC applications, software, and database management.
  • Ability to perform math and bookkeeping skills.
  • Exceptional telephone and customer service skills.
  • Knowledgeable of English grammar and punctuation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Business Office Education or similar coursework.
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification by The American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
