About the position

The Patient Services Coordinator IV at Novant Health is responsible for processing referrals and performing super-user functions related to practice support with EPIC. This role emphasizes delivering exceptional patient experiences and fostering teamwork within a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Process referrals at least 50% of the time.
  • Perform Dimensions super-user functions such as practice support with EPIC.
  • Work on miscellaneous work queues to support the practice.
  • Deliver remarkable patient experiences in every dimension, every time.
  • Foster a safe patient environment driven by the principles of 'First Do No Harm'.
  • Engage in teamwork and community involvement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of experience in a medical office setting required.
  • Knowledge of medical office software for updating patient demographic information, posting charges, copays, and scheduling appointments.
  • Understanding of CPT and ICD9-CM coding processes.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with changing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to function as part of a team.
  • Possess initiative and basic medical terminology knowledge.
  • High level of working knowledge of EPIC systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of multiple payors billing requirements.
  • Familiarity with coding requirements for practice specialty.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in use of all computer software utilized in practice.
