The Patient Services Coordinator at Texas Oncology plays a crucial role in supporting the North Austin clinic by providing high-quality, evidence-based care to patients. This full-time position involves greeting patients, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth communication between patients and clinical staff. The role is essential in maintaining a welcoming environment and adhering to compliance standards while delivering exceptional service to patients fighting cancer.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and visitors to the clinic in a prompt, courteous and professional manner.
  • Checks in patients and informs clinical staff of patient arrival.
  • Provides and explains paperwork for the patient to complete prior to examination.
  • Collects, proofs for completeness, and files patient forms.
  • Updates demographics and insurance information in the system.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required for Level 1.
  • At least eighteen (18) months front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required for Level 2.
  • At least 5 years front medical office receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required for Level Sr.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required.
  • Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling is a plus.
