About the position

The Patient Services Representative at Houston Methodist is responsible for facilitating patient visits through check-in/check-out functions and appointment scheduling. Responsibilities

  • Perform patient check in/check out functions.
  • Schedule appointments and obtain accurate registration data.
  • Coordinate patient flow and manage service delays or denials.
  • Respond promptly to requests from staff, patients, and physicians.
  • Generate reports and assist with department correspondence.
  • Educate patients about billing processes and financial responsibilities.
  • Enter patient and operational data into various database systems accurately.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education (GED, verification of homeschool equivalency, etc.).
  • One year of healthcare or related experience.
  • Basic computer skills in word processing applications.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
