About The Position

As a Patient Services Representative in the Urology department at Glen Ridge, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for our patients and their families. Your primary responsibility will be to greet visitors and patients in a friendly and professional manner, directing them appropriately to ensure efficient patient flow through the registration process. You will be the first point of contact for patients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any inquiries or concerns they may have. This role requires you to promptly answer telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate individuals while demonstrating proper etiquette and professionalism. In addition to managing patient interactions, you will be responsible for handling various administrative tasks. This includes posting self-pay charges, collecting payments, and providing receipts to patients. You will also reconcile daily payments and billing slips to ensure accuracy in financial transactions. Your role will involve scanning insurance cards, processing insurance verifications, and updating patient accounts with necessary information such as demographics and financial waivers. Scheduling appointments accurately according to departmental guidelines and confirming future appointments will also be part of your responsibilities. You will work closely with clinical staff to ensure timely pre-authorizations and complete referrals according to departmental guidelines. Effective communication is key, as you will need to relay any problems or concerns to the Office Supervisor or Manager promptly. The position also requires flexibility, as you may need to cover for other staff members and perform various clerical duties such as faxing, photocopying, and filing. Overall, your role is vital in maintaining a high standard of patient care and operational efficiency within the office.
