About the position

The Patient Service Representative (PSR) serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors at Mercy Hospital. This role is essential in ensuring a positive and seamless patient experience by managing front desk operations and workflows. The PSR is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling inquiries, and maintaining patient confidentiality while supporting the overall mission of compassionate care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage front desk operations and workflows to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Interact with patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Handle inquiries and concerns with empathy and tact.
  • Schedule appointments and process documentation accurately.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow privacy policies and procedures.
  • Complete Clinic Core Front Desk Training post-hire.

Requirements

  • One year of applicable medical office experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills, including data entry and word processing.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in entering patient information.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate discretion.
  • Adaptability to work effectively under pressure.
