About the position

The Patient Transport Aide is responsible for the safe, timely, and accurate transport of patients, medical equipment, and patient-related items within the hospital. This role is crucial in enabling healthcare professionals to perform their duties effectively while ensuring positive patient experiences and satisfaction. The aide must demonstrate sensitivity to patient needs and adhere to established hospital policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Responds to transport requests with a sense of urgency.
• Ensures oxygen tanks are not empty and have enough oxygen for the entire transport.
• Ensures the comfort of the patient throughout the transport by being attentive, offering blankets, checking modesty, and engaging in appropriate conversation.
