About the position

The Patronage Specialist at Compeer Financial is responsible for the accurate and timely distribution of patronage payments, maintaining comprehensive records, and generating insightful financial reports. This role serves as a key point of contact for member-owner inquiries, ensuring exceptional service and resolution of any issues related to patronage calculations and transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Determine accurate and compliant patronage calculations based on Board directives and member-owner records.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of member-owner records and related transactions.
  • Serve as a point of contact for member-owners, addressing and resolving patronage-related inquiries and issues.
  • Create and maintain the accuracy and integrity of patronage transactions by performing daily reconciliations and verifying monthly general ledger balances.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to team members and vendors regarding financial systems and general ledger activities.
  • Interpret and communicate financial data for complex questions, translating technical finance and accounting information into non-technical terms.
  • Create various spreadsheets for data inputs, allocations, accruals, and calculations that impact financial statements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in a financial services industry.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting and/or financial principles.
  • Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements and standards.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automated reporting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into concise and actionable management reports.
  • Strong interpersonal, collaboration, team building, problem solving, decision making, analytical, organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, SQL databases, and accounting software.
  • Highly adaptable and flexible in response to changing business environments and priorities.
