About the position
The Pavement Engineering Specialist II-IV position at TxDOT's Maintenance Division involves working with automated pavement evaluation equipment to support stakeholders through troubleshooting, repair, calibration, and operation of this technology. Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate electronic, electrical, and mechanical components of automated pavement measurement equipment.
- Participate in the design, manufacturing, and acquisition of automated data measurement equipment.
- Assist in data processing and compilation.
- Prepare and make presentations.
- Write equipment operation manuals and develop equipment/system specifications.
- Oversee testing, calibration, and correlation of pavement data measurement systems.
- Coordinate statewide training of district personnel on automated pavement measurement equipment operation.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or Equivalent in general high school studies.
- 7 years of experience in engineering, mechanical, electrical, or electronics design, fabrication, installation, calibration, testing, maintenance, data collection, or computer science for Pavement Engineer Spec II.
- 8 years of experience for Pavement Engineer Spec III.
- 9 years of experience for Pavement Engineer Spec IV.
- Valid driver's license.
Nice-to-haves
