About the position
The Payment Operations Specialist role involves processing payments in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards. The position requires detail-oriented individuals who can work independently and as part of a team, with responsibilities including data entry, verification of checks, and maintaining productivity standards.
Responsibilities
- Preparing batches of work by extracting checks and remittances from envelopes.
- Operating Imaging/Extraction equipment (OPEX 50/51/60, OPEX 7200, OPEX 150).
- Inputting data into the system while following standard operating procedures and customer specific instructions for processing.
- Verifying negotiability of checks through customer specific instructions for processing.
- Analyzing all transactions to ensure payments are properly processed.
- Re-associating check images to corresponding material while validating quality of images.
- Maintaining site productivity and quality standards.
- Occasionally lifting and moving mail trays.
- Contributing to meeting team goals in addition to individual responsibilities.
- Flexibility and willingness to cross-train and learn all job functions in operations.
- Recommending procedural and workflow changes to enhance quality and productivity.
Requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
- Ability to work in a high-speed environment.
- Self-reliant and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with payment processing or similar roles.
- Familiarity with imaging/extraction equipment.
