About the position

The Payment Operations Specialist role involves processing payments in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards. The position requires detail-oriented individuals who can work independently and as part of a team, with responsibilities including data entry, verification of checks, and maintaining productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Preparing batches of work by extracting checks and remittances from envelopes.
• Operating Imaging/Extraction equipment (OPEX 50/51/60, OPEX 7200, OPEX 150).
• Inputting data into the system while following standard operating procedures and customer specific instructions for processing.
• Verifying negotiability of checks through customer specific instructions for processing.
• Analyzing all transactions to ensure payments are properly processed.
• Re-associating check images to corresponding material while validating quality of images.
• Maintaining site productivity and quality standards.
• Occasionally lifting and moving mail trays.
• Contributing to meeting team goals in addition to individual responsibilities.
• Flexibility and willingness to cross-train and learn all job functions in operations.
• Recommending procedural and workflow changes to enhance quality and productivity.

Requirements

• Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
• Ability to work in a high-speed environment.
• Self-reliant and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with payment processing or similar roles.
• Familiarity with imaging/extraction equipment.
