About the position

The Payment Posting Representative-II is responsible for performing daily cash posting reconciliation activities within the hospital revenue operations of an assigned Patient Business Services (PBS) location. This role ensures accurate billing, collections, and posting processes are followed, supporting the management of cash reconciliation and general ledger activities. The position operates remotely and reports directly to the Supervisor of Payment Posting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily activities of the payment posting team that receives, posts, and reconciles all incoming cash payments.
  • Ensure complete daily balancing of all incoming cash received versus cash posted to customer accounts.
  • Document corrections regarding discrepancies and outstanding items in appropriate systems.
  • Provide problem resolution support to the payment posting team.
  • Track data on payment activity and prepare special reports reflecting internal metrics as needed.
  • Reconcile payments and accounts to ensure accuracy for general ledger entries.
  • Adhere to proactive practices for timely and accurate cash posting of all incoming payments.
  • Assist with training and guidance to other team members.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, and Trinity Health's Integrity and Compliance Program.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or Associate's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of direct experience in revenue cycle functions and systems.
  • Experience within the banking industry or a healthcare financial service setting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with internal and external customers.
  • Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in a complex, multi-site environment preferred.
