We are a small accounting firm seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll processing, preparing payroll tax returns, benefits administration, and general accounting practices. Responsibilities

• Process payroll for clients accurately and timely
• Maintain employee records related to payroll
• Handle benefits administration including enrollments and changes
• Collaborate with client HR departments on payroll-related matters
• Reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy
• Prepare reports for client management review
• Prepare quarterly payroll tax filings
• Assist with payroll tax notices and audits

Requirements

• Experience with payroll processing and filing payroll tax returns
• Knowledge of financial concepts including debits, credits, and general ledger accounting
• Experience with benefits administration and payroll processing
• Familiarity with accounting software for payroll functions
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Thomson Reuters Accounting CS and Quickbooks preferred, but not required
