About the position
The Payroll Accountant role at Aston Carter involves managing payroll processes and ensuring a seamless connection between HR and accounting. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of payroll accounting, HR functions, and GAAP accounting principles, with a focus on supporting a new spinoff company.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly close activities, including reconciliations and flux analysis.
- Prepare monthly close summaries.
- Support the new spinoff company.
Requirements
- Payroll processing
- General ledger
- GAAP accounting
- Payroll accounting
- Oracle ERP
- Strong HR and accounting knowledge
- Familiarity with 401K and related benefits
- Solid grounding in accounting principles: US GAAP, debits/credits
- Month-end payroll accounting
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Ceridian Payroll (highly preferred)
- Knowledge of Workday or similar systems (beneficial)
- Understanding integrations in large companies
- Knowledge of SAP for future state (a plus)
- Experience with large public companies (5,000+ employees) preferred
