About the position

The Payroll/Accounting Specialist at Summit Bank is responsible for managing the bank's payroll processes, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and maintaining HR data. This role involves processing employee information, calculating wages, and managing the ADP system while assisting with various accounting responsibilities. The position requires strong communication and organizational skills to support both payroll and HR functions effectively.

Responsibilities

• Manage the bank's payroll including processing employee information and calculating wages.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.
• Maintain HR data, including employee digital records and payroll information.
• Support processing of electronic time sheets and train employees on the ADP system.
• Answer employee questions regarding pay records, benefits calculations, and timesheets.
• Prepare and file payroll taxes, including federal, state, and local taxes.
• Audit vacation and leave hours before final payroll tabulations.
• Coordinate vendor payment and management with the finance team.
• Compile and prepare annual incentive program communications.
• Verify and enter employee changes into the HRIS system.
• Respond to employment verification requests and maintain updated records.
• Assist with data reporting for salary and employee-related surveys.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience in payroll or accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of ADP payroll and accounting systems.
• Excellent computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Crystal Reports.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
• Specific knowledge of word processing software utilized at the bank.
