About the position

The Payroll & Accounting Specialist at OneEighty plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Director with daily, monthly, and year-end operations of the Business/Finance Department. This position is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial management systems and ensuring accurate payroll processing, grant management, and internal auditing. The specialist will contribute to the organization's mission of restoring dignity and purpose by managing financial operations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation, distribution, and posting of payroll, including auditing employee timesheets for accuracy.
• Compile and submit payroll deductions and maintain payroll records.
• Update and analyze payroll-related spreadsheets, including gross pay and benefits.
• Complete quarterly unemployment reports and coordinate yearly W2s.
• Update BWC rates in the payroll system and distribute new rates to staff.
• Prepare and submit grant financial reports and manage grant budgets.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements and prepare journal entries as designated by the Finance Director.
• Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Understanding of accounting principles and ability to read financial reports.
• Valid Ohio Driver License with an insurable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge preferred.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
