About the position

We are seeking a Payroll Accounting Specialist to join our team in the Professional Services industry, based in the greater Framingham, Massachusetts area. The role involves processing payroll and executing general accounting tasks for multiple divisions within the company. The successful candidate will ensure payroll transactions comply with company policies and laws while assisting the Accounting Manager with various accounting responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Processing employee bi-weekly payroll and maintaining accurate records of payments.
  • Verifying work hours for accuracy and calculating employee salaries, hourly wages, deductions, and tip allocations.
  • Ensuring deductions from wages or earnings statements are remitted to the appropriate agencies.
  • Distributing paychecks and ACH payments accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining accurate records of employee payments, including pay periods, overtime, sick days, vacation days, etc.
  • Regularly updating records to ensure smooth operations.
  • Liaising with HR and accounting departments to ensure accurate information for payment.
  • Verifying employee records for discrepancies and generating payroll reports.
  • Performing account and bank reconciliations and posting journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Assisting with month-end and year-end closing procedures and preparing and analyzing financial reports.

Requirements

  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting or a similar role.
  • Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems.
  • Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now.
  • In-depth understanding of Accounting Functions is necessary.
  • Previous experience in Auditing is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge and experience in ADP - Payroll.
  • Familiarity with Sage Intacct is advantageous.
  • Experience in handling Multi-Site payroll accounting.
  • Able to Process Bi-weekly Payroll, Process Biweekly Payroll, and Process Payroll.
  • Must be capable of Reconciling Payroll accurately and efficiently.
