The Payroll/Accounting Specialist at Lifelong Health For All is a crucial role within the Finance Team, responsible for processing bi-monthly payroll and performing essential accounting functions that contribute to the month-end close process and the maintenance of accurate financial statements. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can review timesheets for accuracy and collaborate with staff and managers across the organization to ensure timely completion of payroll processing. The Payroll/Accounting Specialist will maintain payroll data in Lifelong's HRIS (Paycom), prepare entries in MIP Fund Accounting software, and execute various accounting tasks as outlined below. In the payroll function, the specialist will process semi-monthly payroll for both Union and Non-Union employees using Paycom. This includes maintaining 401k elections, uploading employee and employer contributions to the carrier, and performing monthly reconciliations of benefits to ensure accuracy. The role also involves quarterly reviews of Fidelity 401k deferrals against Paycom records, preparing check requests for Flexible Spending Account (FSA) submissions, and calculating Union dues on a monthly basis. The specialist will also be responsible for maintaining organizational codes in Paycom, coordinating with the Controller for monthly expense allocations, and reconciling monthly benefit invoices with the general ledger. In addition to payroll responsibilities, the specialist will prepare recurring and reclassifying journal entries, provide schedules and data for annual audits, and prepare grant billings with necessary supporting documents. The role requires recording cash receipts and other bank activities in the MIP accounting system, managing office supply orders, and processing payments for a small client assistance fund. The specialist will also cross-train to provide backup for accounts payable and grant billing functions as needed. This position demands strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Lifelong Health For All is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace, and the Payroll/Accounting Specialist will play a key role in supporting this mission by ensuring accurate and timely payroll and accounting processes that contribute to the organization's overall success.
