About the position

The Payroll/Accounting Specialist at Protech Staffing Services, Inc. is responsible for managing payroll processing, accounts receivable, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle a high volume of transactions, including multi-state payroll. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Human Resources department to maintain accurate employee data and resolve discrepancies, while also performing general ledger reconciliations and compliance reporting.

Responsibilities

• Process in-house payroll for large volumes of employees
• Perform validation and audits of checks
• Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Handle multi-state payroll compliance and reporting
• Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data management and resolve any discrepancies
• Perform general ledger reconciliation related to payroll transactions
• Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely payments

Requirements

• 2 years of experience in accounting
• 3 years of experience in payroll processing
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information responsibly
• Knowledge of federal and state wage requirements
• Experience with out-of-state payroll processes
• Proficient in accounting programs such as QuickBooks
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines and enforce compliance with company policies

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Bullhorn ATS System
• Experience with ADP Payroll software
• Knowledge of human resources processes
• Spanish language proficiency
