About the position

The Payroll/Accounts Payable Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for the construction field team. This position requires a detail-oriented and dependable individual who can manage a high volume of data entry and administrative tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role involves both payroll processing and accounts payable responsibilities, making it essential for maintaining the financial integrity of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly payroll for the construction field team
  • Accurately enter new hire information into the payroll system
  • Input daily data from manual time sheets
  • Prepare and distribute weekly payroll checks
  • Manage garnishments and other required deductions
  • Process lay-off checks
  • Handle unemployment paperwork and employment verifications
  • Generate payroll-related reports as needed
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports, recording entries
  • Pay vendors; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving discrepancies
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions
  • Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
  • Complete related results as needed for accounting and organization mission

Requirements

  • Proven experience in payroll or as a Payroll Clerk
  • 2+ years of experience in high-volume payroll process
  • Strong data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of prevailing wage and union payroll
  • Proficiency with payroll software, ViewPoint-Vista experience is a plus
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
