About the position

The Payroll Administrator at AMS Impact Group is responsible for managing payroll for over 800 employees using the Workday payroll system. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can collaborate effectively with HR and Benefits teams to resolve payroll-related issues and ensure accurate processing of employee payments. The position is hybrid, allowing for both remote and in-person collaboration, and is integral to supporting the mission of providing quality education in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Update payroll records by approving self-service changes within Workday
  • Pull hours in Time and Attendance system, enter and validate necessary data for bi-weekly processing
  • Process stipends, employee incentives, and other ad-hoc payments
  • Balance bi-weekly payroll reconciliation worksheet and reports
  • Prepare various reports and queries for internal business partners
  • Monitor Payroll Helpdesk for assigned tasks and employees in pay groups
  • Work with HR and Benefits Teams to resolve issues related to employee pay and deductions
  • Interpret company policy in processing payroll-related transactions
  • Process manual checks
  • Perform other duties as necessary

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of progressive payroll experience required
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in business or accounting preferred
  • Workday processing and reporting experience preferred
  • Proven experience in a payroll position in a fast-paced, high-volume environment required
  • Strong knowledge of tax and wage laws in a multi-state employment environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office applications
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills
  • Able to handle confidential matters using sound judgement and discretion
  • Able to work effectively in a Hybrid work environment with minimal supervision

Nice-to-haves
