About the position

The Payroll Administrator plays a critical role in managing and processing payroll functions for the organization. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of payroll management systems. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with tax regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Process and administer weekly payroll for all company employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of salary disbursements.
  • Verify and input employee information into the payroll system, including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
  • Calculate and process payroll taxes, garnishments, and other statutory deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute paychecks, direct deposit statements, and any necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee details, pay rates, and tax-related information.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and discrepancies.
  • Coordinate with HR and finance teams on employee benefits, compensation changes, and other related matters.
  • Assist payroll company in the preparation and filing payroll tax returns, W-2s, 1099s, and other required government filings.
  • Assist with year-end processes, including auditing payroll records and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll regulations and best practices to ensure continued compliance.
  • Support internal and external audits related to payroll processing.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of payroll administration experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations, garnishments, and wage laws.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a multi-state payroll environment is a plus.
