About the position

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for executing payroll processing tasks for both Canadian and U.S. entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, filing tax reports, processing deductions, and preparing accounting transactions. The Payroll Administrator will also address payroll discrepancies, provide guidance to team members, and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Execute all tasks necessary to process payroll for two entities (Canada and the U.S.) ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update payroll records.
  • File tax reports and voluntary deduction reports.
  • Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents.
  • Document and update payroll procedures.
  • Prepare special reports for management and employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on payroll matters.
  • Process invoices and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 Years of Experience in Payroll Processing
  • ADP experience required
  • Payworks & Sage Intacct experience preferred
  • Multi-state unemployment registration and maintenance experience
  • 401K retirement account management experience
