About the position

The Payroll Administrator at Aston Carter is responsible for executing payroll processing tasks for both U.S. and Canadian entities, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, filing tax reports, processing deductions, and preparing accounting documents. Additionally, the administrator will assist with accounts payable tasks and provide support to team members on payroll matters.

Responsibilities

  • Execute payroll processing for two entities (Canada and the U.S.) ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain and update payroll records.
  • File tax reports and voluntary deduction reports.
  • Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents.
  • Document and update payroll procedures.
  • Prepare special reports for management and employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on payroll matters.
  • Process invoices and payments for accounts payable.
  • Reconcile accounts for accounts payable.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • ADP experience required.
  • Payworks & Sage Intacct experience preferred.
  • Multi-state unemployment registration and maintenance experience.
  • 401K retirement account management experience.
