About the position

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing payroll processes for both Canadian and U.S. entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role involves maintaining payroll records, processing deductions, preparing reports, and providing support to team members on payroll matters. Additionally, the position includes accounts payable assistance, such as processing invoices and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks necessary to manage payroll for both Canadian and U.S. entities.
  • Maintain and update payroll records.
  • File tax reports and voluntary deduction reports.
  • Process involuntary deductions such as levies and garnishments.
  • Prepare accounting transactions and documents.
  • Document and update payroll procedures.
  • Prepare special reports for management and employees.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies.
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on payroll matters.
  • Process invoices and payments for accounts payable assistance.
  • Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing.
  • ADP experience required.
  • Payworks & Sage Intacct experience preferred.
  • Multi-state unemployment registration and maintenance experience.
  • 401K retirement account management experience.
