About the position

The Payroll Analyst, Commissions at Workato is responsible for processing payroll and managing commissions for the sales team. This role involves validating and reconciling sales commission reports, ensuring compliance with payroll regulations, and improving payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy. The analyst will also handle employee inquiries related to payroll commissions and prepare necessary financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent calculation of sales commissions to validate and reconcile reports from the sales operations team for payroll payout.
• Suggest process and system improvements to enhance the accuracy, scalability, and efficiency of the commissions validation process.
• Advise employees on payroll commissions related inquiries.
• Resolve payroll commissions discrepancies.
• Prepare and reconcile Commission and Quarterly Bonus Accrual files between actuals and accruals.
• Collect, calculate, and enter data to maintain and update payroll information.
• Process employee payroll in a timely manner and review for accuracy as per assigned country.
• Resolve payroll discrepancies and develop ad hoc financial and operational reporting as needed.
• Scope and implement payroll process improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with Workato Inc. state laws on payroll accounting, including US federal and state taxes, social security contributions, etc.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.
• Previous experience as a payroll accountant or in a similar role for Regional Payroll with specialization in Commissions calculation.
• Payroll and tax knowledge for the US, with familiarity on APAC and EMEA as a plus.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel.
• Great computational ability and attention to detail.

• Familiarity with systems such as Namely (US), Salesforce, and CaptivateIQ.
