About the position

In this unique role, you will work closely with the Human Resource and Payroll department while also assisting the Accounts Payable department as needed. This position is crucial for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission employees. You will be responsible for reviewing and importing hours from the time and attendance system, as well as reviewing, approving, and entering tax and direct deposit information. Additionally, you will administer regulatory requirements such as garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, making necessary adjustments to pay as required. Your responsibilities will also include processing employee onboarding and offboarding procedures, along with benefit administration. You will collaborate with the Human Resource department to implement and maintain payroll best practices aimed at improving efficiency in payroll and HRIS processes. Maintaining a summary of all payroll allocations and ensuring they are accurately reflected in the general ledger will be part of your duties. You will analyze, reconcile, and summarize Human Resource bills, prepare monthly payroll accruals, and quarterly sick and vacation accruals. Furthermore, you will produce scheduled and ad-hoc reports related to payroll and human resources requirements, participate in the monthly and annual general ledger closing processes, and prepare journal entries with supporting documentation. Assisting in Accounts Payable as needed and contributing to additional analysis, tasks, and special projects will also be part of your role. The ideal candidate will possess intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills, which are essential for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in processing accurate and timely payroll for hourly, salaried, and commission employees.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in Payroll Administration for 100+ exempt and non-exempt, multiple state employees.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications, including HRIS/Payroll systems.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
