About the position

The Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for processing payroll and accounts payable transactions accurately and in a timely manner. This role requires a strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently to ensure compliance with payroll regulations and maintain organized records.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for employees accurately and timely
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations
  • Process accounts payable transactions accurately and timely
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end close activities
  • Respond to employee and vendor inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate and organized payroll and accounts payable records

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll and accounts payable
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
  • Experience with accounting software, such as QuickBooks
