The Payroll and Accounts Payable Specialist position at a firm located in Atlanta, GA, is a full-time role designed for an established, self-motivated, and results-driven individual. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in payroll and accounts payable functions. This role involves generating, reviewing, and auditing payroll for accuracy before processing, as well as maintaining the payroll database and files related to payroll. The specialist will be responsible for processing accurate employee data, including additional earnings and employee time and attendance data, while ensuring compliance with wage and hour laws and federal and state requirements. In addition to payroll responsibilities, the specialist will conduct monthly audits of employee benefit statuses, including the payment of insurance premiums. The role also encompasses processing accounts payable functions for the firm, which includes reviewing invoices, processing payments, and reconciling payments. The specialist will need to identify and highlight any payroll or accounting discrepancies and ensure they are resolved promptly. Furthermore, managing the ACH authorization process within the bank CEO portal is a key responsibility, along with other duties as assigned. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, superior time management, and analytical skills. Organizational and multi-tasking abilities are essential, as the candidate must be dependable, possess advanced problem-solving skills, and have exceptional proofreading skills to verify the accuracy of numbers. Effective communication with co-workers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner is crucial. The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and prioritize work as necessary is also important. Excellent customer service skills and a team player attitude are required, along with above-average PC skills, particularly in Word and Excel. Experience with cloud-based accounting/ERP systems is preferred, and familiarity with Accounting Seed is a plus. A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is also advantageous.
