About the position

Human Touch Home Health Care is seeking a Payroll and Benefit Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee compensation and benefits. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of payroll regulations and benefits administration. You will be responsible for administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives. Additionally, you will coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefit options to employees, ensuring they are well-informed about their choices. As a Payroll and Benefit Specialist, you will process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in the HRIS system. You will collaborate with vendors to resolve benefit-related issues and ensure accurate billing. Conducting research on industry trends and best practices will be essential to recommend improvements to our benefit programs. You will also assist employees with benefit inquiries and provide guidance on plan options, preparing reports and analyzing data related to employee benefits utilization and costs. Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee benefits is a critical aspect of this role. Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefit options to employees.
  • Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS system.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve benefit-related issues and ensure accurate billing.

  • Assist employees with benefit inquiries and provide guidance on plan options.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data related to employee benefits utilization and costs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee benefits.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of financial concepts related to employee benefits.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems.
  • Familiarity with journal entries, corporate accounting, technical accounting, payroll, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits administration or related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred).
