About the position

We are seeking a highly motivated Payroll and Benefits Specialist who is bilingual in English and Japanese to join our dynamic team in New York, NY. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 per year. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our expanding operations by leveraging their expertise in global payroll and accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks that include payroll processing, accounting support, financial reconciliation, and employee inquiries. In this role, you will assist with accounts payable (AP), general ledger (GL), bank reconciliations, and other financial tasks. Your attention to detail will be essential in reviewing invoices, addressing vendor inquiries, and maintaining well-organized documentation. You will also be responsible for calculating payroll for both local and expatriate employees, ensuring accurate recording of payments, deductions, and changes. Your expertise will extend to individual tax filings and global mobility payroll coordination, ensuring compliance with company policies. Additionally, you will perform accurate reconciliations of card transactions using the designated system and provide timely and precise reports. You will serve as a dependable resource for employee questions related to payroll, accounting, and benefits, managing leave requests and updating the ADP System with accuracy. This position requires a strong understanding of global payroll processes and accounting practices, along with the ability to communicate effectively in both English and Japanese.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Over 2 years of experience in accounting and payroll, with a solid understanding of global payroll processes and accounting practices.
  • Business-level proficiency in both English and Japanese.
