About the position

We are looking for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our client's team in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the payroll and benefits processes, working closely with managers, and maintaining accurate employee records in our Human Resources Information System (HRIS). This position is crucial for ensuring that payroll is processed accurately and on time, and that employee benefits are managed effectively. You will oversee the processing of regular and bonus payrolls for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring that all deductions and withholdings are accurate. Collaboration with managers is essential to ensure that timesheet entries are completed accurately and in a timely manner. In addition to payroll processing, you will handle the reconciliation of general ledger payroll liability accounts and monthly insurance invoices. A thorough understanding of the company's employee benefit plans is necessary, as you will manage related tasks and assist in the onboarding process for new hires, including data entry into the HRIS. You will also manage the termination process, ensuring that all necessary steps are taken and that records are updated in the HRIS. Regular reporting related to payroll and benefits will be part of your responsibilities, along with managing the entry of employee sales into payroll. It is important to maintain regular and predictable attendance in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the processing of regular and bonus payrolls for salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accurate deductions and withholdings.

  • Handle employee data changes in the company's HRIS.
  • Conduct regular, quarterly, and yearly reporting related to payroll and benefits.
  • Manage the entry of employee sales into payroll.
  • Ensure regular and predictable attendance is maintained.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Full Cycle Payroll administration
  • Extensive knowledge of Garnishments
  • Ability to manage Benefits Payroll
  • Experience in Benefits Administration
  • Proficiency in HRIS - Human Resources Info Systems
  • Understanding of Payroll - Garnishments
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems quickly
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions independently
  • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent experience preferred but not required
