About the position

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist role at Kelly involves managing payroll processing and benefits administration for employees. This position is essential for ensuring compliance with state laws and tax obligations while providing support to employees regarding their payroll and benefits inquiries. The role is a temp-to-hire opportunity, allowing for remote work, with the requirement to be within driving distance of the office for initial setup.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks related to the timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with state laws and tax obligations.
  • Handle benefit enrollment for new hires, qualifying events, and open enrollment periods.
  • Support employees by answering questions related to benefits enrollments and payroll.
  • Reconcile monthly benefit carrier invoices.
  • Assist the HR Director with project management for cyclical processes such as open enrollment and payroll/benefit system updates.
  • Prepare periodic reports and perform various administrative duties.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years of payroll and/or benefits experience.
  • Experience with Paychex is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
