About the position

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist at CRH Management, LLC is responsible for the administration of payroll and benefits for the organization. This role involves collaboration with HR and operations personnel across multiple regions to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll and management of employee benefits. The specialist will handle payroll inquiries, maintain employee records, and assist with benefits-related issues, ensuring compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process semi-monthly payroll for five companies alongside another payroll specialist.
  • Handle all employee actions and required documentation for new hires, changes, compensation adjustments, and terminations accurately and timely.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate and complete employment verification requests.
  • Maintain electronic employee records and information in various HR and Payroll systems.
  • Assist employees with benefits claim issues and plan changes.
  • Respond to benefits inquiries regarding plan provisions, enrollments, and status changes.
  • Ensure accuracy of all benefit enrollments and provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
  • Update HRIS database with new and changing information, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Maintain employee benefit files and adhere to storage retention requirements.
  • Process and administer all leave-of-absence requests and disability paperwork, including medical, personal, disability, and FMLA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous Human Resource and Payroll experience required.
  • Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, v-lookups, and complex formulas.
  • Basic knowledge of human resource practices and current labor laws across multiple states.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Experience processing payroll in the state of California.
