About the position

The Payroll and Compensation Manager will play a crucial role in establishing and standardizing payroll and compensation processes within a fast-growing, private equity-backed organization. This position is designed for a self-motivated individual who is detail-oriented and eager to contribute to a culture of innovation and operational efficiency. The role involves collaborating with leadership to manage all aspects of compensation and benefits, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish processes and procedures from the ground up.
  • Organize and streamline data flow management.
  • Develop and implement best practices for operational efficiency.
  • Manage resources and collaborate directly with the Professional Employer Organization (PEO).
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and apply knowledge of long-term incentives and equity plans.
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all things compensation related.
  • Strategically assess employee benefits renewal options.
  • Research and determine voluntary benefits offerings.
  • Analyze employee participation to calculate benefit costs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within benefits administration.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align benefits with company goals.
  • Communicate clearly with stakeholders on benefit program updates and changes.
  • Identify and implement appropriate systems.
  • Manage special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5+ years of extensive payroll and total compensation experience.
  • Large ERP experience required along with intermediate/advanced Excel skills.
  • System implementation experience is a plus.
  • Solid critical thinking and analysis skills with attention to detail.
  • Superb communication skills required.
