About the position

The Payroll and Credentialing Partner at Iowa Orthopaedic Center is responsible for managing payroll processing and overseeing the credentialing of healthcare providers. This role ensures compliance with payroll regulations and maintains accurate credentialing records, working closely with HR, finance, and compliance teams to integrate payroll functions and credentialing processes effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Administer bi-weekly payroll processing for all employees, ensuring accuracy in timekeeping, benefits deductions, and compensation adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure all employee hours are tracked and processed in accordance with Iowa Ortho's policies.
  • Address payroll discrepancies, process payroll changes (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments), and resolve payroll-related employee inquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal payroll regulations, including tax filings, wage laws, and overtime rules.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee changes such as promotions, pay adjustments, and benefit updates.
  • Manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for physicians and healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of provider credentials, including licenses, certifications, and training, and track expiration dates for timely renewals.
  • Work with licensing boards and regulatory agencies to resolve issues with credentials and ensure compliance with payer-specific credentialing standards.
  • Ensure payroll operations comply with all relevant laws and organizational policies, including accurate tax reporting and processing wage garnishments.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll and credentialing files to ensure data accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to Director of HR and Director of Finance providing insights on compensation and workforce trends.
  • Report credentialing status updates to HR and leadership, ensuring the organization remains compliant with credentialing requirements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee and provider inquiries regarding payroll and credentialing status.
  • Collaborate with HR and compliance teams to streamline payroll and credentialing workflows and maintain regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in human resources, accounting, healthcare administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in payroll administration, credentialing, or HR.
  • 2-4 years' experience with credentialing.
  • Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and labor standards.
  • Understanding of healthcare credentialing processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll/credentialing software.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines for payroll processing and credentialing compliance.
