About the position

The Payroll and Finance Specialist at BMS Heavy Cranes Inc. plays a vital role in managing payroll processing and supporting financial operations. This full-time position is based in Addison, Texas, and involves collaboration with project managers and the regional director to ensure accurate financial processes and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, including employee status changes and deductions.
  • Review timekeeping records for discrepancies and resolve any issues.
  • Assist in year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, financial reports, statements, and forecasts, including invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Conduct regular financial transactions, such as accounts payable and accounts receivable processing.
  • Prepare and process expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Collaborate with project managers to provide financial support and insights.
  • Perform financial analysis and prepare reports to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Coordinate with the Danish headquarters for accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Assist in general accounting tasks, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closing processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and financial management.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills, time management, and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and MS Excel.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in a multinational company
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting and financial control systems such as Xero, ApprovalMax, Expensify, Gusto, etc.
