About the position

Join a leading west coast wholesale distributor at their Seattle corporate headquarters as a Payroll and HR Specialist. In this role, you will receive training from the Accounting Manager to assist with processing payroll for all employees across seven western states. Your excellent communication skills and customer service orientation will be highly valued, as you will serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll, benefits, and human resources-related inquiries. You will also play a crucial role in the new employee onboarding process and will liaise with Department Managers from all divisions concerning compensation and HR-related issues. This position offers the potential for growth, allowing you to take on additional responsibilities in either the HR or accounting fields.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing a large bi-monthly payroll for 1100 staff across 7 states using Paylocity, with training provided.
  • Update new hire information, including benefits additions and deletions.
  • Communicate positively with employees and management teams regarding payroll queries.

Requirements

  • Verifiable accounting, payroll, and/or related HR experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to assist employees effectively.
  • Any accounting education would be considered a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Paylocity or similar payroll software.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
