About the position

The Payroll and HRIS Specialist will oversee and supervise the organization's payroll functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions while complying with government regulations. This role also involves providing HR system support and working closely with the HR team to ensure efficient processing of HR system transactions.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate payroll transactions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
• Coordinate to ensure system accessibility and timely resolution of HRIS issues.
• Process employees' queries and respond in a timely manner.
• Provide reporting, metrics, or presentations as assigned.
• Participate in various HRIS initiatives to support business needs.
• Create and maintain HRIS procedures and end-user job aids.
• Monitor daily scheduled HRIS alerts and reports.
• Perform security administration tasks such as unlocking accounts and resetting passwords.
• Supervise employees on payroll process.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
• Three to five years of strong working knowledge of HRIS systems similar to ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficient with payroll software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Ten or more years of experience and extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
