About the position

C.H. Robinson is seeking a Payroll and Human Resource Specialist to lead the management of leave of absence procedures, ensuring that employees are supported and that processes comply with regulations. This role involves a variety of administrative and payroll tasks, playing a crucial part in the global HR operations of the company. In this role, you will administer employee benefits programs related to leave of absences, handle inquiries regarding HR policies, maintain employee records in compliance with data protection regulations, and support HR Business Partners with various administrative tasks. You will also prepare and file HR-related documents, draft HR letters upon request, and assist in payroll processing for employees on leave. The position requires collaboration with internal and external parties on various HR projects and initiatives, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Administer employee benefits programs for leave of absences
  • Handle employee inquiries related to HR policies for absence management
  • Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with data protection regulations
  • Support HR Business Partners with general HR administration and ad hoc requests
  • Prepare and file HR-related documents, including fit-to-work and other leave-related documents
  • Draft basic HR letters and documents upon employee request
  • Collect and organize necessary inputs for payroll processing for the Leave of Absence population
  • Assist in validating payroll reports prepared by external Leave of Absence vendors
  • Address simple payroll-related queries from leave of absence employees, escalating complex issues as needed
  • Assist with various HR projects, initiatives, and administrative tasks as assigned, collaborating with internal and external parties

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and/or GED
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HR environment (payroll, leave of absence, and/or administration)

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
  • Experience in processing payroll
  • Working towards a degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience working with an external payroll provider
  • Ability to work in a shared service environment
