About the position

The Payroll and Leave Specialist will be responsible for managing payroll processes and leave calculations for a higher education client in Aurora, Colorado. This hybrid position requires two days in the office per week and involves providing procurement and contract support, navigating financial systems, and handling various business operations. The role is full-time and offers a temporary-to-hire opportunity for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly additional pay process and contract pay for clinical faculty.
  • Process and monitor monthly med/legal payments for faculty.
  • Reconcile balances for faculty and update, track, and audit funding distributions.
  • Complete Payroll Expense Transfers (PETs) as needed.
  • Process and communicate FAMLI leave calculations to departmental staff.
  • Manage and direct the monthly payroll process including timecard processing and leave management.
  • Calculate and maintain clinical commitments for fellows ensuring appropriate payment for any overages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Two years of professional experience in finance and/or payroll management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Higher education accounting experience.
  • Experience in data analytics.
