About the position

The Payroll/AP Manager at Thundermist Health Center is responsible for overseeing the payroll and accounts payable departments, ensuring accurate processing of payroll and managing day-to-day AP operations. This role involves collaboration with Human Resources, compliance with statutory reporting, and mentoring team members to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for exempt & non-exempt employees in Dayforce.
  • Partner with Human Resources to resolve payroll issues and set up new features.
  • Direct the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts.
  • Prepare reports summarizing earnings, taxes, deductions, and leave.
  • Review bi-weekly variance reports and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality of payroll operations and employee information.
  • Review payroll systems and suggest internal process improvements.
  • Ensure accuracy of tax reporting requirements, including W-2's.
  • Oversee compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements.
  • Maintain internal payroll controls and contribute to team efforts.
  • Approve bi-weekly payroll prior to submission.
  • Manage and mentor payroll team, including conducting training and annual reviews.
  • Conduct Dayforce training at monthly Orientation sessions.
  • Review and reconcile statutory reporting and filing requirements (941's, W-2's, etc.).
  • Respond to payroll processing discrepancies and escalate issues as needed.
  • Manage Dayforce system enhancements and upgrades.
  • Oversee day-to-day AP operations and ensure data accuracy.
  • Analyze expense reports and invoices in NetSuite for payment eligibility.
  • Review AP Proposals for accuracy prior to AVP, Finance approval.
  • Review W-9 forms for accuracy and ensure proper classification in NetSuite.
  • Prepare and file forms 1099 annually.
  • Ensure proper storage of records for audit purposes.
  • Manage and mentor AP team, including conducting training and annual reviews.
  • Review and revise AP procedures as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two (2) years management experience required.
  • Excellent microcomputing skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, team environment with attention to detail.
  • Strong relationship building and business collaboration skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dayforce experience preferred.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
