About the position

The Payroll/AP Specialist role is a new position within an engineering company, responsible for managing payroll processing and accounts payable functions. The specialist will ensure compliance with various regulations while maintaining accurate employee records and collaborating with HR for benefits administration.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain employee records, including personal information, salary changes, and benefits administration.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure payroll accounts are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll transactions and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Utilize financial software such as QuickBooks and ADP for efficient payroll processing.
  • Conduct data entry tasks related to employee hours, deductions, and benefits.
  • Assist in the resolution of payroll discrepancies by investigating issues and providing solutions.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage benefits administration and ensure accurate deductions from payroll.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience.
  • Experience using ADP WFN or similar software.
  • Associates degree in a relevant field.
  • Proficiency in corporate accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform account reconciliations effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and other departments.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar financial software.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration processes.
  • Familiarity with ADP or Ceridian systems.

Benefits

  • Full-time position with expected hours of 40 per week.
  • Competitive hourly pay ranging from $25.00 to $32.00.
