About the position

The Payroll Assistant will support the payroll department by ensuring accurate and timely processing of employee payroll data. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in payroll software, and excellent data entry skills. The assistant will collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll for employees using various payroll systems such as Paychex, ADP, UltiPro, or Ceridian.
• Perform data entry tasks to maintain accurate employee records and payroll information.
• Assist in account reconciliation to ensure all payroll transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
• Collaborate with HR and finance departments to resolve any payroll discrepancies or inquiries.
• Support the preparation of payroll reports and summaries for management review.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information and adhere to company policies regarding data protection.
• Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with payroll software such as PeopleSoft, Paychex, ADP, UltiPro, or Ceridian is highly desirable.
• Strong data entry skills with a high level of accuracy.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting principles is a plus.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
